Installation, of District Grand Officers

I appear before you this day that, I have taken this solemn oath, that I will faithfully and honorably execute the office of The District Grand Master of this Order.
I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the Independent United Order of Mechanics’ Friendly Society, Global, Incorporated.
In entering upon this great office I most humbly invoke the God of our Fathers for wisdom, knowledge and understanding, with firmness to execute its high and honorable duties, in such a manner as to restore harmony and ancient friendship among the Brothers and Sisters of the Order, to preserve our Institutions throughout many generations to come.
Convinced that I owe my election to the inherent love for my God, which still animates the hearts of the Brethren, let me earnestly ask their powerful support in sustaining all just measures, calculated to perpetuate these rich blessings, which Heaven has bestowed upon our District.
I should be destitute of feeling if I was not deeply affected, by the strong proof of love and devotion, that my fellow Brothers, and Sisters have given me….. their confidence in calling me to this high office, whose functions I have now to assume.
As the expression of their good opinion of my conduct in the public, and in the Order I derived from, it is a gratification which those who are conscious of having done all that they could to merit it.
My sensibility is increased by a just estimate of the importance of the trust, and of the nature at the extent of my duties, with that candor and indulgence which I have experienced in the order.
“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." Although you won't find it put just that way in the Bible, you will find many stories of both effectiveness and poor planning. The Bible teaches that God is a God of both purpose and planning.
He will get you through the rough times as well as remove all obstacles. All my hopes and aspirations I place in His hands, and I am fully persuaded that He will lead and guide me into all truth.
My Brothers and Sisters, I will say it just as the Bible said it, “Study to show thyself approved” let us all study to show ourselves fit for the job ahead.
I will be depending on your support, just as you would be depending on mine. We need each other. Lets go on fully understanding that we are serving one Master who is Lord over us all. Thank you.
